The Searching for Bigfoot press release was somewhat disappointing with lots of skeptical journalists trying to get down to facts. Facts that DNA evidence do not support.
As reported in CNN:
“They released a purported DNA result, although it was uncertain if the DNA info was supposed to be compared to other primates.”
According to Reuters, Bigfoot is simply a huge opossum:
“One of the two samples of DNA said to prove the existence of the Bigfoot came from a human and the other was 96 percent from an opossum, according to Curt Nelson, a scientist at the University of Minnesota who performed the DNA analysis.”
Sorry folks, the Whitton-Dyer Bigfoot is simply a hoax.
i’m still trying to figure out if “Sasquatch” is Bigfoot’s name, or if that’s the name of his species
You’re right, it’s a hoax. A guy spent big money to purchase the body and thawed it out to find it is a rubber costume. The “finders” have gone into hiding and one of them has been fired from his job.
USA Media Guide has Bigfoot links including the group’s website, photos, the original story and the “hoax revealed story”. It even has a link to a story about one of the “finders” being a former Congressional candidate. Good stuff!

I don’t see how anyone could be sceptical of such compelling evidence. Next you’ll be railing against Santa Tooth Fairy.
